Barcelona Opportunity Week - BCNOW!

Barcelona is all about great offers! BCNOW is a new, one-week venture starting on the 28th of January. It is a week of major discounts and special deals for top restaurants, shops, theatres, concerts, markets and other cultural attractions (many 2 for 1 ticket offers, unique promotions and even free admissions!). There will be several cultural activities available including guided visits to Museum Picasso.

If you love fine food (as we do here at Somnio), it is your chance to discover the city's top restaurants (some of them Michelin-starred!). During Barcelona Opportunity Week the restaurants will be serving a unique menu at an exclusive price of 25 EUR (drinks and VAT not included). The list of restaurants offering menus can be found here. Pick your favorite one today and remember that a part of all proceedings is donated to charity. Enjoy!

BCNegra 2011

Festival of Mystery and Intrigue Novels 31.01-05.02
BCNegra is an annual festival dedicated the thrillers, detective novels, crime and mystery fiction writing.  The festival offers a chance to meet writers (more than fifty international authors will be present!) and take part in other cultural events:  panel discussions, readings, exhibitions, talks, workshops and dining with the thriller as a backdrop.
One of the main atractions of the festival is the interactive game you can participate in. You can solve a kidnapping mystery involving this year's award winner novelist. To find and rescue him, you have to interpret eleven tracks provided in QR Code (Quick Response) and distributed through the old city of Barcelona. The QR code is a kind of bar code that can be read by a mobile of last generation and that provides a direction of a web page. Decipher the codes, follow the clues and find out what happened to Andreu Martin, this year's Pepe Carvalho prize winner. The Carvalho award is named after the protagonist of a famous series of Barcelona based detective novels by Manuel Vazquez Montalban.
If you are more of a cinema fan, there is also a cycle of black cinema screenings at the Filmoteca de Catalunya (entrance 2.70EUR).
Check the whole programme of this festival here.
